The raw food diet has gained a lot of popularity among pet owners over the last few years.
Many people feel that our dogs' ancestors ate a raw diet, and it's best if we feed our domesticated companions a similar type of food.
Stella & Chewy's Raw Blend dog food allows pet owners to give their pets the benefits of raw food without the health dangers associated with the diet.
Stella & Chewy's is a pet food company that believes that any amount of raw food that can be added to a pet's diet will have a greatly positive impact on the animal's overall health and well-being.
Unfortunately, making homemade raw dog food greatly increases the risk of your pet's diet being contaminated with bacteria.
Not to mention, many pet owners don't have time to prepare a homemade diet for their pets.
Although raw food doesn't need to be cooked, you'll still have to shop for the ingredients, cut and chop ingredients, and measure ingredients before you can serve a meal to Fido.
For these reasons, commercial raw foods (like those offered by Stella & Chewy's) are growing in popularity.
One of the main reasons why I like working with this company? They've only had 2 recalls in the past.
Both were in 2015, and both were voluntary recalls because the company's testing showed signs of Listeria contamination in the food.
That's a great record, and it shows the company takes pride in providing dog owners with a safe product to feed to their pets.
When I got the opportunity to review one of the company's newest product lines, you could say that I was pretty excited!

Stella & Chewy's Raw Blend Dog Food Review
They call this Raw Blend because it is a blend of Stella & Chewy's freeze-dried raw pieces and baked kibble that is coated in their freeze-dried raw food.
It is made of a whopping 65-70% meat ingredients, and the other 30-35% is made of fruits, vegetables, and other wholesome ingredients.
Stella & Chewy's also makes their pet food in the USA, which is something that is important to me.
They are minimally processed, which means your pup can digest them much more easily.
They don't use ingredients from China, and the list of things that aren't included in this recipe is extensive.
In Stella & Chewy's Raw Blend dog food, there is NO:
I'm really impressed with the quality of the ingredients in this dog food.
In every recipe, real meat is the first ingredient. They use grass-fed red meat, cage-free chicken, and wild-caught fish. The company also uses organic fruits and vegetables.
Ingredients: Beef, lamb meal, peas, lentils, pork meal, chickpeas, salmon meal, pea protein, lamb, lamb fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), venison, sunflower oil, natural vegetable flavor, flaxseed, suncured alfalfa, beef liver, beef kidneys, beef heart, beef tripe, beef bone, fenugreek seed, pumpkin, coconut oil, pumpkin seed, organic cranberries, organic spinach, organic broccoli, organic beets, organic carrots, organic squash, organic blueberries, inulin (from chicory root), thyme, sage, rosemary extract, tocopherols (preservative), dried kelp, choline chloride, taurine, calcium carbonate, potassium chloride, sodium phosphate, zinc proteinate, iron proteinate, copper proteinate, manganese proteinate, sodium selenite, vitamin E supplement, thiamine mononitrate, niacin supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, vitamin A supplement, vitamin D3 supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, salt, dried pediococcus acidilactici fermentation product, dried lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried bifidobacterium longum fermentation product
As you can see, Stella & Chewy's Raw Blend dog food has added probiotics, which are also beneficial for digestion. It is also rich in omega fatty acids for skin and coat health.
Now, let's talk about the specifics of the nutritional content. The guaranteed analysis on the packaging of this food states that it contains a minimum of 36% protein and 14.5% fat.
It's a high calorie and low carb diet, which isn't suitable for all dogs. Be sure to check with your vet to see if your dog will benefit from this type of diet.
Every cup of Stella & Chewy's Raw Blend dog food contains 423 kcals.
I was also happy to learn that this food is safe for puppies, pregnant dogs, and lactating mothers.
As I state in my video review, this is a high-quality dog food that I highly recommend. You'll see how much our dogs love it in the video above, and it makes me happy to know that I'm feeding them a healthy diet that is packed with nutrition.
I also like knowing that the company that makes the food is reputable, which is something that most pet owners don't think of.
My advice is to check the reputation of any company that you purchase pet products from.
So, what's the downside?
First of all, unlike many other dehydrated dog food brands, Stella &Chewy's Raw Blend dog food isn't available online.
Because it has a shorter shelf life than commercial foods that are packed with artificial preservatives and artificial ingredients, it can't sit in warehouses for months on end before being sold — and that's a good thing!
Unfortunately, that also means that it's available from select local retailers only.
Also, because of the higher quality ingredients used to make this food, it costs more than most commercial diets.
I could only find one online retailer that listed a price for this product, and they sell 10-pound bags for $51.
Obviously, this food won't fit into every pet owner's budget.
COUPON ALERT! If you sign up on this website with your email address, you can get a coupon for $5 off a bag of Raw Blend.
