Robot Dog Built by Boston Dynamics

Boston Dynamics, a subsidiary of the technology giant Google, has revealed its newest creation; a robot dog named Spot. Google bought out the robotics company back in 2013.

Spot was designed for search and rescue missions, but who knows where this technology could lead. He is agile enough to walk, run, and navigate many different terrains despite the fact that he weighs almost 160 pounds.

The robotic dog was built using state-of-the-art technology including a sensor that helps him keep his balance. As the video demonstrates, he doesn’t even loose his balance when he is kicked.

Spot is equipped with an electric motor which powers a series of hydraulics. This innovative technology surely won't stop here. Who knows what's next, maybe a robotic cat or even a human?

Samantha’s biggest passion in life is spending time with her Boxer dogs. After she rescued her first Boxer in 2004, Samantha fell in love with the breed and has continued to rescue three other Boxers since then. She enjoys hiking and swimming with her Boxers, Maddie and Chloe.
