Of course, there are other causes of ear infections in dogs.
There is also a difference between outer and inner ear infections, the latter being more serious.
It's important to check in with your veterinarian if you believe that your dog may have an ear infection.
While effective over-the-counter and home remedies exist for dog ear infections, your veterinarian should make the final call.
If your dog gets frequent ear infections due to yeast buildup, your vet may recommend a yeast starvation diet.

Homemade Dog Food for Ear Infections
The Skin and ear infections caused by yeast are known as yeast dermatitis.
One particular type of yeast, Malassezia, lives on your dog's skin at all times.
Malassezia does not typically cause problems, but when this yeast is overpopulated, an infection can occur.
If you notice your dog scratching his ears incessantly or seeing that he has cracked lips or red, inflamed skin, it could be a sign of a yeast infection.
Yeast can also build up between the toes, causing your dog to chew on his paws.
If you look inside your dog's ear and notice redness or swelling, he likely has an ear infection.
If the redness is accompanied by a stinky smell, that is a sure sign of a yeast infection!

Serving Size Recommendation: You can serve this homemade dog food for ear infections to your pet as soon as it has cooled.
I recommend feeding about 1/2 cup of food for every 20-25 pounds of body weight.
This recommendation is for 2 servings per day. So, a 25-pound dog would eat about 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the evening.
This is just a guideline. Some dogs, like working dogs and very active breeds, will need more calories than this. Lazier pets and senior dogs may not need as many.
It's best to consult your veterinarian about the appropriate serving size for your dog.
They will also help you evaluate the meal to ensure it meets your pet's unique nutritional needs.
If necessary, they will assist you in choosing the best supplements and/or multivitamins to add.
How to store: You can store the leftover ear infection dog food in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or freeze them, and they’ll keep for up to 3 months.
Remember that this recipe includes no preservatives, so it won't last nearly as long as commercial dog food.
