Every dog needs a quality bed, and there are no exceptions to this rule. From the largest breeds to the smallest pups, quality bedding is a must. You must choose a bed that will properly support your pet's weight to give him bones and joints a break when he is resting. The Rabbitgoo Orthopedic Foam Dog Bed is designed to evenly distribute your pet's weight across the entire bed.
What does that mean? In layman's terms, these types of dog beds are designed to help spread out the weight. This means that your dog's back end (which tends to be heavier) won't sink down to the floor while his head (which is lighter) stays elevated.
Why does your dog need a high quality bed? Most pet owners think that any blankets or soft bedding will be sufficient for their dog to sleep on. However, a high quality matress can prevent potential arthritis issues and/or alleviate any joint pain that your dog is already experiencing.
A top quality bed also provides insulation for your pooch all year round. It will keep him up off of the cold floor in the winter and insult to help cool him in the summer months. Studies have also shown that dogs quickly take a liking to comfortable beds and prefer their own bed for sleeping over dog crates, mats or other products.
Our dogs have slept on a lot of beds. Recently, they've been napping on this Rabbitgoo Orthopedic Bed. What do they think? What's my opinion of this dog bed and the value that it offers for the price? I'll explain all of that and more in this review.
Rabbitgoo Orthopedic Foam Dog Bed Review
The photo above shows the foam inside of this dog bed. It's 3-inch thick orthopedic foam that is in an egg crate design, which is what helps to evenly distribute your dog's weight across the bed. This design also allows air to flow through the bed and underneath your dog to keep him from overheating.
The bed features a step-on design with back and side bolsters. My dogs really love to snuggle into the bolsters, and our Labrador enjoys resting her head on them. I like the bolster design, because it prevents my dogs from sliding off the side of the bed when they stretch out.
You can see the faux-fur sleeping surface in the photo below. It's very soft, and our dogs definitely seem to enjoy laying on it. Two of our dogs also like to “nest” before lying down. I was worried that they may tear a hole in the cover of the bed, but so far there are no signs of damage. We've had the bed for about 3 months, and they use it daily.
The cover is made of a polyester fabric that is washable. However, it is recommended that you wash it by hand. My favorite feature is the waterproof liner underneath the outer cover. A waterproof cover is a must-have, in my opinion. It will save you a lot of headaches over the life of the bed.

The drawback to this dog bed is that it is currently only available in one size. The bed measures 36″L x 27″W x 5.5″H. The sleep surface is 27.3″L x 22.6″W.
This orthopedic foam dog bed is only recommended for pets weighing up to 55 pounds. Hopefully Rabbitgoo will make it available in more sizes in the future.
I do believe this bed is an affordable option for owners who want to provide a better quality bed for their pet. It's not the highest quality, but it's a much better option than the traditional dog beds filled with synthetic stuffing.
You can purchase one of these dog beds on Amazon for $39.99 at the time of this review. That's a great price compared to similar options that sell for upwards of $50.
