Pet owners are beginning to see the damage that chemicals, toxins, and artificial ingredients are doing to their beloved pets.
Whether ingested or used topically, these types of ingredients are doing more to damage our pet's health than help them.
That's why companies like Prickly Pup are creating all-natural products to help us care for our dogs in the safest and healthiest way possible.
Prickly Pup specializes in holistic care products for humans and animals.
They have an extensive line of products that can help your dog with issues including hot spots, excess gas, dry skin, and even separation anxiety.
They also offer products made specifically for humans, horses, and cats.
I was sent the company's Boo Boo Balm and New Nose Balm in exchange for my honest review.
We used both on our animals, and I also used the Boo Boo Balm on myself and our children.
Both products are very effective. I was pleased with both results of both and happy to find out that these Prickly Pup products are also affordable.

Boo Boo Balm
Boo Boo Balm certainly lives up to its name.
You can use it on any “boo boo” you can think of, including stings, insect bites, minor burns, cuts, scrapes, and so much more. You can also use it to treat your dog's hot spots, post-op incisions, and rashes.

Since it's all-natural, you can use it on yourself, too.
You don't need to worry about washing it off your skin as quickly as possible. It's just as good for you as it is for your pet.
If there's a bit left on my hands after I apply it on our pets, I just rub it into my hands. It works wonderfully to soften them, and it smells great too!
Although the Prickly Pup makes a Boo Boo Balm specifically for cats, we tried this on one of our cats a few weeks ago when she had hot spots.
I put an e-collar on her so she couldn't lick the balm. It worked wonderfully!
I can't vouch for the way it works on canine hot spots, but it really helped clear up our cat's hot spots in just a few days. I was very impressed.
If you plan on using it on your cat often, you should certainly invest in the Boo Boo Balm for kitties.
You should only use it on puppies over 10 weeks old.
Boo Boo Balm is a wonderful first-aid ointment to keep in your home.
Because it is all-natural, you can use it on yourself, your dogs, and your children – no more worrying about buying separate products for everyone.
It's affordable, too!
A 1-ounce tin is usually $11, but you can get it for $8 on the company's website now.
Ingredients include sweet almond oil, hazelnut oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, vitamin E oil, ravensara, thyme, lavender, rosewood, geranium, and helichrysum.
New Nose
Our boxer has always had a dry nose.
Since we live in Maine, the winter months are especially hard on her skin, including her nose.
The air is very dry, so we always use a natural balm to keep her nose from cracking and causing her pain.
I switched from the all-natural balm that we typically use to New Nose by Prickly Paw a few weeks ago.
The results of New Nose were comparable to the name brand type of balm we were using before, and it's actually less expensive.
New Nose is formulated to heal your pet's nose from the inside out while soothing the pain at the same time.
As you can see in the picture on the right, Chloe's nose is dry, and she develops small sores on the side of her nose sometimes when it is especially dry.
We added a new nose all over her nose and to those small spaces on the side of her nose.

It cleared up the sores in 48 hours (although they were minor) and also kept her nose moisturized. We're very happy with the results.
New Nose is also formulated to be completely healthy for your dog to ingest.
If I don't keep my eyes on her, Chloe always tries to lick off any balm we put on her nose, so I make sure everything I use is 100% safe for her.
New Nose promotes the formation of new tissue, prevents scarring, moisturizes, and acts as an anti-neuralgic, antibiotic, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory.
It can also be used as a natural sunscreen and to prevent windburn on your pup's nose.
Ingredients include Melissa-infused olive oil, lavender and chamomile-infused olive oil, rose hip oil, jojoba oil, tamanu oil, sweet almond oil, beeswax, burumuru butter, shea butter, castor oil, coconut oil, and vitamin E oil.
Both of these products, especially New Nose, should be stored in the refrigerator.
It gets very soft when it gets warm.
These products also need to be used within 12 months. Due to the natural ingredients, they expire sooner than products made with artificial preservatives.

PROS: These products are effective and affordable. They're also safe for your pet, as they are made with all-natural ingredients. These balms are also great for humans, so you can use the same products as your pup!
CONS: They should be stored in the refrigerator and expire after 12 months. This is because of the lack of artificial preservatives, which is actually a good thing! These balms from Prickly Pup may not have the shelf life of similar products, but they are all-natural and avoid the toxins and harsh chemicals found in traditional healing balms.
