A dog left tied to a tree near an animal shelter was found to have an out-of-date microchip. The RSPCA is on the lookout for any leads that will tell them where he came from.
When a poor Rottweiler and French Mastiff mix was seen tied up to a tree in a quiet lane near an animal shelter, the person who spotted him knew he had to help.
“He was very scared and shaking when he was first found.”
The sad dog was absolutely terrified and shaking in every limb, visibly scared from being abandoned so heartlessly by someone he likely trusted and cared for. A passerby was walking with his own dog, who spotted the tied pup first and quickly alerted his owner.
The pup had been left tied to a tree on a small road nearby to the Ashley Heath Animal Centre of the RSPCA. Authorities were quickly contacted, and it wasn’t long before Inspector Jo Story and their team arrived on the scene. The dog was brought into the animal center, still visibly frightened. There was no sign of an owner anywhere around.
It is not clear how long the cruelly left behind dog had been stuck in his awful situation. Passersby and drivers who had gone by the area hadn’t reportedly seen the pup’s sorry plight a short while earlier, but he was slightly hidden as well. As such, there was no sure way to determine how long the dog had been left there.
Staff scanned the pup for a microchip and found one. His name was Bruce, but the details listed on his microchip were old and no longer applied to his living situation. There’s a chance that the dog had been stolen previously, or perhaps gone missing – as if he hadn’t gone through enough!
is 16 months old and was rehomed relatively recently – just four months ago – with a fellow sister dog. His new home is supposedly located in Bournemouth, but Inspector Story states that they have not yet succeeded in contacting the woman who took him in.
Despite the scary ordeal that Bruce went through, he hasn’t lost his love of people. Inspector Story describes him as a lovely pup who loves attention and is extremely loving and affectionate.
