If your dog likes to play fetch, this toy is just what you need! The Nerf Dog Tennis Ball Blaster can chuck a tennis ball up to 50 feet and allows for hands-free pickup. Yep! That's right, no more picking up wet, drool covered tennis balls.
When you're shopping for dog toys, it's all about safety and your dog's personal preferences. While some dogs will play with virtually any type of toy, others are very picky. If your dog loves to run and fetch, like my Labrador (Saddie), this toy will take your fetch game up a notch.
Fetch is so much more than just a way to entertain your dog. Playing games like fetch helps to burn excess energy, which will ultimately lead to a more relaxed, better behaving dog. It's also a great way to relax, have fun and foster the bond between you and your canine companion.
Saddie was born to fetch, literally. She is a retriever, so it's in her nature to enjoy running and retrieving. Sometimes I have to force her to take a break from playing fetch when I know she needs a break. She enjoys the game so much, she won't stop unless I make her!
I don't mind throwing a tennis ball for her, but there are a few drawbacks. For starters, my arm and shoulder get tired after a few big throws. I also hate picking up soggy tennis balls soaked in drool. The Nerf Dog Tennis Ball Blaster fixes both of these problems, and I'm sharing all of the details in the following review.
Nerf Dog Tennis Ball Blaster Review
If you've ever played with a Nerf gun, you know just how much fun these things are. Now, imagine a Nerf gun that shoots tennis balls! This ball launcher is SO cool and tons of fun for your whole family, including the canine members.
As I mentioned, the Nerf Dog Tennis Ball Blaster can send a standard 2.5″ tennis ball flying up to 50 feet. You can see in my video review that this gun is pretty powerful and shoots the balls with quite a bit of force. It could certainly hurt someone if you aimed the tennis ball at them.
There is a safety release mechanism, and the Nerf Dog Tennis Ball Blaster is only recommended for people over the age of 14.
You can also see how easy it is to pick up a tennis ball with this gun without using your hands. When your dog drops the ball, simply place the end of the gun over the ball and press gently until the ball is stuck in place.
In the photo above on the right you will see the safety release mechanism (large orange bar on the top of the gun) and the orange tennis ball holder attached under the gun. You can keep an extra tennis ball with you in case the first one gets lost.
The gun is just 16″ long and very lightweight. It takes a bit of strength to pull the release mechanism back, but you shouldn't have any trouble as long as you don't have arthritis or weak hands.
You can purchase the Nerf Dog Tennis Ball Blaster on Amazon for $19.50 right now. That's cheaper than most large Nerf gun toys! I was really surprised to see this product at such an affordable price point, and I think it's a really great value for the money!
