Review: Maxpower Planet Undercoat Rake for Dogs

I have a dog with a double coat, and the shedding can be ridiculous at times. I swear by my undercoat rake for dogs to remove all the tufts of loose fur that come from her undercoat.

The Maxpower Planet undercoat rake for dogs is designed specifically to remove loose hair from the second coat. The small blades reach through the top coat to pull dead hair out while leaving the top coat shiny and smooth.

All dogs shed to some extent, but some breeds shed worse than others. If your dog is a big shedder, you need to have the best dog grooming tools on hand to reduce the amount of shed hair around your home.

Regular brushing helps to reduce shedding, but certain brushes are better at this than others. You'll need to select the type of de-shedding tool to fit your pet dog's needs.

Undercoat rakes aren't suitable for all breeds and coat types. This tool is best used on dogs with double coats, rustic coats, heavy coats, and/or hand-stripped coats.

Maxpower Planet Undercoat Rake for Dogs Review

Undercoat Rake for Dogs

The Maxpower Planet Undercoat Rake for dogs is well-made, durable, and built to last for a very long time. I wouldn't be surprised if we were still using this grooming tool with future pets for many years.

The ergonomic rubber handle is soft and comfortable. It keeps your hand from getting fatigued while brushing, and it's really comfortable to hold onto.

The specially designed curved blades were created to reach into the undercoat of breeds like Labradors and Huskies. The curve of the teeth allows them to pull out the loose hair without cutting or scraping your dog's skin.

The teeth are also designed to maintain a damage-free top coat. Some pet owners think that undercoat rakes are too harsh for the top coat, but they won't cause any damage at all.

This undercoat rake for dogs can be used on any size and breed. It doesn't matter if your pet has a long or short coat. I even use it on our long-haired cat, and it works great for her too!

You can see the two sides of this brush in my video review above. One has 17 teeth that are quite close together. This site is for de-shedding your dog. The other side has 9 teeth that can be used to demat your pet.

This tool is available in black, blue, gray, pink, purple, turquoise, white, or yellow. You can purchase one on Amazon for $19.99 at the time of this review.

Given the high-quality material and durability, I would say this dog brush is a great value for the money. If your dog's coat could benefit from an undercoat rake, this option from Maxpower Planet is a great choice.
