All of our dogs shed, of course, but our Labrador is something else! She sheds continuously all year long, and it gets worse in the spring and fall. For the last year, I've been on a mission to find a de-shedding brush that would work well on all of our dogs, and the Magic Pro Dog Deshedding Tool is the best all-around de-shedding brush I've found to date.
Some de-shedding tools, like the FURminator, are designed for a specific coat type and a specific size of the dog.
While this is great for people who own just one dog and typically adopt the same breed, it's a disadvantage for multi-pet owners and people who adopt a variety of breeds or mixed breeds.
The Magic Pro comes in two variations – one for small/medium breeds and one for medium/large breeds.
I tested the size for small and medium breeds and found that it worked well on all three of our dogs, even our double coated chocolate Labrador Retriever. It's a lot more convenient for me to use a tool like this rather than buy a separate deshedding brush for each of our dogs.
One thing to remember when using a deshedding tool is that it's not the only dog brush that you'll need to have in your grooming kit. Your pet needs to be brushed with a pin and bristle brush to remove any tangles from his coat before you try to deshed him.

Magic Pro Dog Deshedding Tool Review
Like many other similar products, the Magic Pro Dog Deshedding Tool is equipped with a stainless steel brush head. The teeth are slightly rounded at the end to ensure this brush is gentle on your dog's skin, but you still should not apply pressure when using a deshedding tool on your dog. Adding pressure will not remove more hair, and it may cause injury to your pup.

This grooming tool also comes with a guard that protects the teeth when not in use. This adds to the life of the brush and also prevents anyone from getting injured when the brush is stored.
This dog brush from HappyDogz features a comfortable handle with a rubber grip. In the video at the top of the page I show you how the ergonomic handle is designed with small grooves that contour to your hand. There is also a large groove at the top of the handle that works as a thumb rest.
The Magic Pro Dog Deshedding Tool features unique teeth that reach into your pet’s coat to remove debris and loose hair. It's also equipped with a quick release button that ejects the brush head for safe storage and easy cleaning.
I like the fact that is a lightweight tool. I have three dogs to groom, and with the lightweight of the brush and the ergonomic handle I don't have to worry about hand fatigue.
In my opinion, the Magic Pro Dog Deshedding Tool is an excellent option for anyone looking for a deshedding tool for multiple dogs. It worked well to remove hair from our Beagle and our Boxer, and I was really impressed with the amount of hair that it removed from our lab's double coat.

Many of the one-size-fits-most deshedding tools on the market do not work on her double coat. They do well on the top coat, but they don't reach deep enough to get into the undercoat. As you can see in the photo above, this tool removes the course hair of her top coat and the fluffy hair of her undercoat.
