An LA rescue pup is taking social media by storm with his adorable foodie pics. Popeye the Foodie Dog presently has over 188,000 followers on his Instagram page. The adorable dog and his dad, Ivy Diep, hit up all the Los Angeles restaurants, seeking pet-friendly establishments and then taking hilarious photos of Popeye with the food.

Popeye is often dressed up in the photos, in costumes or accessories depicting the theme of the food. His Mexican cuisine pic features Popeye in a sombrero, while his fancy latte photo depicts him as an artsy hipster (glasses and all!). He often dons sweaters, hats, and costumes.

Diep said he developed the fun hobby after discovering that Popeye would always sit still for photos, and was surprisingly good around food.

People wonder if Popeye actually eats all the delicious food he is depicted with, but Diep says he usually doesn’t eat much of it or any at all. Popeye tends to prefer his own treats to what’s offered at the restaurants (side note: those must be some amazing treats!).

One look at Popeye’s Instagram page makes it easy to see why he has amassed so many followers so quickly. From the depiction of Popeye as a cowboy eating steak to the picture of him donning stereotypical French garb eating la cuisine Française, it’s never hard to guess just what exactly is on the menu at each location.

I think it’s safe to say, there probably is no rescued dog in the world who is happier or having more fun than Popeye. He was lucky to get taken in by Ivy, and the world is lucky to rejoice in the collective adoration of Popeye’s hilarious and adorable photos.
