It's easy to get one of these pillows made. You just jump on the company's webiste and upload the photo of your choosing. There are some guidelines to ensure that you get the best quality pillow. For example, low resolution photos, photos with filters, blurry photos and photos with harsh shadows don't work well.
Don't worry. There is a photo guide on the Life Goes Pop! website that walks you through picking the perfect picture. Once you upload the photo, the company will send you an email with several designs for you to choose from.
There are dozens of different backgrounds in virtually every color!
Select the design you want, and they'll send you a final email showing you what the finished pillow will look like. If you approve, your new throw pillow will arrive in the mail in a couple of weeks.
Now, you can't get these with the Amazon 2-day shipping guarantee, but they are worth the wait. They say that the turn around time is about 11 days (3 days to draw, 4 days to print and 4 days to ship.
Life Goes Pop! artists hand draw each portrait, which could require more than 10 layers depending on the photo you choose. They don't use digital imaging, which makes the process take longer but also gives you a much more detailed picture.
These throw pillows measure 18″ X 18″, so they are great to use on couches, chairs or even on a child's bed. As you'll see in my video review, the material is 80% polyester and 20% cotton, which gives it a smooth, soft feel and shiny look.
There is also a zipper on the bottom of the pillow's cover. The pillows are machine washable, so it's okay if they are heavily used. Our dogs snuggle on our couch every day, so I was worried the pillow may pick up that doggy smell over time. No worries though, because I can pop it in the wash whenever I need to.
Aside from the turn around time, the price of the pillows may also be a drawback. They are $49.99, which is obviously quite expensive for a throw pillow. However, when compared to the price of other personalized gifts of this quality, I expected the price to be much more expensive.
