I love taking our dogs for a ride in the car, but I hate the dirt and dog hair that is left on my upholstery.

We bring our dogs with us almost everywhere. We take them hiking, swimming and to the dog park.
While we're out on our adventures, our dogs get muddy, wet and dirty.
That means any car seat cover that is going to stand up to our girls needs to be durable and waterproof.
When I'm shopping for a car seat cover, it needs to be convenient and effective.
I have three dogs, so I need a cover that goes on easily, but I don't want a cheap product that doesn't fully protect the seats of my vehicle.
So, did this car seat pass my testing? Would I recommend this product to other pet owners?

Kululu Design Car Seat Cover for Dogs Review
The Kululu Design Car Seat Cover for Dogs has a lot of similarities to other similar products.
But, one major design feature stands out – the see-through mesh panel that happens to fall just between the two front seats of your vehicle.
This patent-pending design is the only one of its kind available at the moment.
It allows your dog to see you at all times and you to see your pooch as well.
This could be a great benefit for pets who have anxiety about riding in the car.
This cover is a hammock design, which means that it attaches to the headrests on the front and rear seats to form a hammock in the backseat.
This not only protects your seat but also keeps your dog from jumping into the front seat.
While our dogs did seem to enjoy being able to see us, the mesh is made of a soft rubber material that won't hold up to scratching and clawing.
If your dog is an uneasy rider, he may try to scratch through the mesh to get into the front seat.
I don't think the mesh is durable enough to handle that without ripping.
However, the rest of the seat cover is made of durable, quilted, breathable and water-resistant material.
Our little Beagle mix, Molly, likes to nest before lying down.
She has scratched and dug all over this car seat cover, and it doesn't show any signs of tearing yet. It holds up well to her constant scratching.
Like most other similar products, the Kululu Design Car Seat Cover for Dogs features seat anchors and buckled straps that secure to the headrests on the front and rear seats.
I really like the buckled straps.
Some similar products just offer adjustable straps that go around the headrests.
In order to take the cover on and off, you have to readjust the straps every time.
These buckled straps allow you to easily put the cover on and remove it without having to readjust the straps each time.

I was also happy to see that the seat belt buckles are hidden underneath the cover, but there are Velcro access holes to reach them if needed.
We don't actually need this feature with our dogs anymore, but take it from someone with experience: it's nice to be able to hide the buckles from chewing jaws that will ruin your seat belt buckles while you're driving to the vet.
The Kululu Design Car Seat Cover measures 54 inches wide and 58 inches long.
As you can see, it fits the backseat of our SUV very well. You'll have to tuck in some of the extra material if you have a small SUV or little car, but this cover is also long enough to protect the seats of large SUVs and trucks.
One of the best benefits of this cover is that it is equipped with a non-slip silicone backing.
This prevents the cover from sliding around while you're driving, which keeps your seats clean and benefits unstable senior pets or dogs recovering from injury.
This car seat cover isn't without its flaws, though.
While you can wash it quite easily with a wet cloth or by spraying it down with a hose, it's not machine washable or dryable. It's also only water-resistant, not waterproof.
We take our dog swimming quite often in the summer months, and my seats still got wet when she rode home on this cover.
Granted, they weren't as wet as they would have been without the Kululu Design Car Seat Cover for Dogs, but they were damp nonetheless.
This seat cover from Kululu Design sells for $39.95 on Amazon.
You can certainly find seat covers that are less expensive, but they won't likely offer the same features as this one.
You can also find seat covers that are more expensive than this one. It's middle-of-the-road as far as price is concerned.
