While almost every dog bandana is made of a soft material, some are made from synthetic fabrics that could chafe your dog's skin or give him a rash.

How to Put a Bandana On a Dog
The first step to learning how to put a bandana on a dog is to measure your pet's neck.
You can't tie a bandana on your pet if the bandana is too small.
To do this, you'll need a fabric tape measure.
Measuring your dog's neck can be quickly done whether your dog is sitting, standing, or lying down.
Simply wrap the fabric tape measure around your pup's neck where a collar would sit.
Add a couple of inches to the measurement because you'll need some extra material to tie the bandana.
Once you have a large enough bandana to wrap around your dog's neck, learning how to put a bandana on a dog is simple.
In this article, I will describe the styles I use with my dogs: the classic cowboy look, the cape look, and the “roll and tie.”
Classic Cowboy
The classic cowboy look is pictured above.
All you have to do is fold the bandana in half diagonally, like in the photo on the right.
Now, wrap the folded edge around your dog's neck and tie the ends together.
When tying the bandana, slip two fingers between the bandana and your dog's neck. You don't want it too tight, or it could choke your pup!
Bandana Cape
The cape look is done the same as the cowboy look, but you just turn the bandana around.
The triangular part of the bandana will be on your dog's back, which looks similar to a small cape.
Roll And Tie
Sometimes, I like to use what I refer to as the “roll and tie” look.
This style is just as easy to learn as the other two mentioned above.
Fold the bandana in half diagonally.
Now, roll the folded side down about 1 inch.
Continue rolling the bandana, and tuck the pointed end in securely.
Wrap the bandana around your dog's neck and tie the ends. Don't forget to leave a finger's width between the bandana and the neck.
