These simple treats for dogs are easy to make and can even be frozen for long-term storage. I also like them because they are soft and can be easily broken into pieces. They are perfect for any size dog, breed or age. You can even use them as training treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 4 tbsp. molasses
  • 4 tbsp. water
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

First, mix the pumpkin, molasses, coconut oil and water together in a medium-size mixing bowl. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon to the mixture. Stir until a dough forms, and then knead until the dough is completely blended.

You will need to place the cookies on a greased cookie sheet. To form the dough balls, you can wet your hands and roll small ping pong-sized balls of dough. You can also just drop small dough balls onto the cookie sheet with a spoon. The best thing about dogs is that they don’t care what their cookies look like.

Once you’ve filled the cookie sheet, flatten the balls with a fork. I demonstrate how to do this in my video guide as well. Bake the cookies in a 350°F oven for about 25 minutes.
