All dogs need a bed. There are no exceptions to this rule. Whether your dog is large or small, lives indoors or outside or is young or old, he needs a bed. Even if your pup sleeps in your bed with you at night, he should still have a bed of his own. The Frisco Bolster Dog Bed is designed to meet the needs of a variety of dogs, and it's affordable on any budget.
When your dog has his own dog bed, that gives him a place in your home that is all his. He doesn't need to share that space with anyone else. Even if your dog doesn't like to be by himself very often, he'll have a comfortable, warm and safe place to rest when he does.
A dog bed like the Frisco Bolster can serve as a boundary for a puppy time out or give your senior dog the relief that his tired and sore muscles and bones need after a long day. There are many different types of dog beds available, and you can learn about them all in our article on the different types of dog bedding.
Frisco Bolster Dog Bed Review
This dog bed is filled with shredded orthopedic foam. As you can see in my video review, there is an interior cover that holds all of the foam in place. The removable outer cover is machine washable, which is a must have feature in my opinion.
The bed features a step-on design with back and side bolsters. My dogs really love to snuggle into the bolsters, and my Boxer mix enjoys resting his head on them. I like the bolster design, because it prevents my dogs from sliding off the side of the bed when they stretch out.
You can see the faux-fur sleeping surface in the photo above. It's very soft, and our dogs definitely seem to enjoy laying on it. Two of our dogs also like to “nest” before lying down. I was worried that they may tear a hole in the cover of the bed, but so far there are no signs of damage. We've had the bed for about 4 months, and they use it daily.
The bed is available in 3 sizes:
- Large – 36″L x 27″W x 9″H
- XLarge – 40″L x 30″W x 9″H
- XXLarge – 48″L x 36″W x 9″H
I do believe this bed is an affordable option for owners who want to provide a better quality bed for their pet. It's not the highest quality, but it's a much better option than the traditional dog beds stuffed with poly-fill.
This bed can only be purchased through Chewy. It sells for $54.99-$78.49 depending on the size that you need. The Large size is featured in my review, and as you can see my 60-pound Boxer mix fits on quite well.
