Your dog probably doesn't even realize that he has tear stains, but I bet they are driving you crazy. While tear stains don't pose much of a threat to your pup, they can hinder his adorable appearance. Most pet owners worry about using cleaners that have chemical ingredients, especially on their dog's face. Eye Envy Tear Stain Remover and grooming products are made with natural ingredients that won't irritate Fido's eyes.
When looking for grooming products for your dog, it's important that you find products that are safe for your pet. If the grooming supplies that you choose are made with harsh chemicals, dyes, or fragrances, they could do more harm than good. This is especially important to remember when you're selecting tear stain removers and other products that will be used on your dog's face.
It's a common misconception that tear stains only occur on the face. In fact, those ugly reddish-brown stains can occur around the muzzle and between your dog's toes. Usually, it's the stains on the face that are the most upsetting to owners. Some products can easily help with this, but not all of them are safe or effective. Today, I'm trying Eye Envy tear stain remover to see how it is and if it's worth the price tag.
Typically, breeds with white or light-colored fur are most commonly affected by tear staining. Of course, that is partly because it's easier to see tear stains on light-colored fur. There are many reasons why tear staining occurs, for more information on what might be causing the stains on your dog's coat check out our article on The Truth About Tear Stains On Dogs.
Eye Envy Dog Tear Stain Remover and Dog Grooming Products Review
Eye Envy Tear Stain Remover is a 2-step process. The first is the foaming tear stain remover solution and the second is the tear stain remover powder. Both products can be used on dogs or cats and are made with natural ingredients.
The foaming tear stain remover contains 30 ppm of colloidal silver, which works to speed the stain-removing process. It does not contain harmful cleaning agents such as peroxide, bleach, or steroids like other similar products.
In my video guide, you will see how easy it is to use this product from Eye Envy. You simply put a little foaming tear stain remover on a cotton pad and wipe it underneath the eyes. Once finished, you can begin step 2.
Tear Stain Remover Powder is the final step. After wiping under the eyes with the foaming solution, apply a small amount of this powder to the under-eye area. It is formulated to help repel tears and keep the area dry. It also prevents the regrowth of tear stains. This powder is made with a drying agent that has a natural antibacterial compound in it.
The company recommends that you use these products daily to remove the stains and then weekly to prevent them from reforming.
In my video review, you will also see the ProPowder Applicator Brush from Eye Envy. It is made with anti-bacterial, soft fiber hairs and is washable for easy cleaning. The company claims that it picks up 5 times as much powder as an ordinary brush, and I couldn't agree more!
I also love how easy the brush is to use. Its ergonomic design gives you more precise control, and the fiber hairs spread the powder through the fur very easily.
You can purchase a kit that contains a 2-ounce bottle of foaming tear stain remover, a .5-ounce container of ProPowder, and 30 round rayon pads to use as applicators for the foaming solution. The kit retails $39.99 on Amazon, but you can also buy the products separately if you choose.
Eye Envy also offers their Off the Beard Stain Remover. Unfortunately, I don't have a dog with a beard, so I wasn't actually able to test this on our girls. However, if it works as well as the company's tear stain remover I would certainly recommend it.
Off the Beard Stain Remover is also made with all-natural ingredients and antiseptic herbal extracts. It eliminates odors and is sulfate free. It is supposed to be effective on stains caused by the oxidation of saliva, yeast, and artificial coloring found in dog food and treats.
This stain remover is a topical product, so it doesn't require any rinsing. You can purchase an 8-ounce bottle on Amazon for $30. It does seem a bit pricey, but one bottle should last quite a while if you're only using it daily to remove stains and then weekly to keep them away.
