Review: Embark Urban Dog Harness

There are a number of advantages to using a dog harness over a collar. The most important is the harness's ability to spread any pressure through the dog's chest instead of around its neck.

Harnesses, like the Embark Urban Dog Harness, are more comfortable for your pet and safer than a traditional dog collar.

Using Dog Harnesses

As with most products, not all dog harnesses are created equal. Lower quality dog harnesses don't fit properly, and they can actually do more harm than good.

Also, a poorly fit harness can lead to a loss in the range of motion and chaffing in the armpits.

A pet harness that is made with poor quality materials could also come apart, letting your dog loose when he shouldn't be.

It's important to find a harness for dogs that fit snuggly but not too tightly. You also need to invest in a harness that is made of durable materials.

Finally, it's also crucial to choose a harness that will meet your and your dog's needs, because not all of them will, and there are different types.

For example, if your dog pulls a lot, you'll want a no-pull harness specifically, generally with a front attachment clip.

This will help you when you're training the dog not to pull. If you're only using the harness when taking Fido for a walk, you'll want one that is easy to put on and take off.

You don't want to have to fight with a very intricate, feature-heavy, and frustrating dog harness every time you're getting your pooch ready to go outside.

Embark Adventure Dog Harness No-Pull Dog Harness for Small Dogs, Medium & Large. 2 Leash Clips, Front & Back with Control Handle, Adjustable Blue Dog Vest for Any Breed, Soft & Padded for Comfort In this new Embark Dog Harness review, I'm addressing all of these points. The Embark Urban Dog Harness is made by the popular brand Embark Pets, and it's designed to be an everyday harness for many purposes.

You can use it for leash training, dogs that pull, and regular daily walks.

It's available in 4 sizes, making it a good choice for almost any pup that's also affordable for pet owners on small budgets.

Embark Urban Dog Harness Review

Embark Urban Dog Harness ReviewOne thing you'll notice in my video review above is how easy this harness is to put on and take off of your dog. This is an over-the-head harness, which is the only type of harness that I use with my pack.

All you have to do is unclip both of the chest straps, and you can slide the neck strap over Fido's head. Then you can fasten each of the chest straps around your pup, and you're all done. Of course, you'll still need to adjust the straps for a proper fit, but the harness itself is extremely easy to put on.

While we're on the subject, let's talk about the fit. There are four different adjustment points – one on each side of the neck strap and one on each side of the chest strap. They are sliding buckles that are very easy to adjust. And the best part is that they stay put once they are adjusted.

There is nothing more frustrating than a cheap dog harness that adjusts on its own when your dog is wearing it. At the beginning of your walk, it's fitted properly, but by the time you get home, it's way too loose.

Testing the Embark dog harness

If you have a teacup or a very small breed, this harness isn't for you. It is available in four sizes:

  • Small – neck size of 12″-17.5″ and chest size 17.5″-26.5″
  • Medium – neck size of 15″-24″ and chest size 16″-31″
  • Large – neck size of 17″-27″ and chest size 19″-42″
  • Extra-Large – neck size of 21″-34″ and chest size 22″-46″

It's also available in five different color schemes. My boxer mix, Thor, pulls a lot. He's a very strong dog, and I need a harness for him that is durable. The Embark Urban Dog Harness is quadruple-sewn with military-grade thread.

It's also equipped with 2 strong attachment points – one on the chest and one on the back. This is great for owners who have dogs that pull or would like to use a front clip attachment to have better control over their pets in certain situations.

Embark puts a unique feature on all of its harnesses – a built-in name tag. It includes a spot for you to write your dog's name, your name, and your phone number. I would prefer this label to be on the outside of the harness so it's easily visible to anyone who finds your pet.

Overall, this is a good quality dog harness that is suitable for dogs who pull or just use it as a daily walking harness. It's comfortable for the dog, easy to put on and take off, and affordable on any budget. You can purchase one on Amazon for $29.99, no matter what size you need.
