There are many advantages to using a harness over a traditional dog collar. Most importantly, they disperse the pressure through the dog's chest instead of around his neck. This means that harnesses, like the Embark Adventure Dog Harness, are safer and more comfortable for your pet.
While they may be a better alternative to traditional dog collars, harnesses are not all created equally. Lower quality dog harnesses are not durable and they don't fit as well as higher quality products. A poor fit can lead to a loss in range of motion and chaffing in the armpits of your pet.
It's important to find a harness that fits snuggly, but not too tightly. You also need to invest in a harness that is made of quality material, so it will be comfortable for your dog to wear during long walks. Harnesses also need to be suitable for the type of walking that you'll be doing.
If your dog pulls, you'll want a harness with a front attachment clip. This will help you when you're training him not to pull. If you're only using the harness when taking Fido for a walk, you'll want one that is easy to put on and take off. You don't want to have to fight with a frustrating harness every time you're getting your pooch ready to go outside.
So, is the Embark Edventure Dog Harness a good everyday harness? Is it only suitable for quick walks around the block? I'll answer this question and tell you all the details about this harness in my full product review below.

Embark Adventure Dog Harness Review
The first thing that I demonstrate in my video review above is how easy this harness is to put on and take off of your dog. The Embark Adventure Dog Harness is an over-the-head harness, which is the only type of harness that I use with my fur babies.
All you have to do is unclip both of the chest straps, and you can slide the neck strap over her head. Then you can fasten each of the chest straps around your pooch and you're all done. Of course, you'll still need to adjust the straps for a proper fit, but the harness itself is extremely easy to put on.
While we're on the subject, let's talk about the fit. There are four different adjustment points – one on each side of the neck strap and one on each side of the chest strap. They are sliding buckles that are very easy to adjust.
Even better, they stay put once you adjust them!
There is nothing more frustrating than a cheap dog harness that adjusts on its own when your dog is wearing it. At the beginning of your walk it's fitted properly, but by the time you get home it's way too loose.
I'm happy to say that you won't have to worry about that with the Embark Adventure Harness. I did wash it, just to make sure that it would hold up well, and the buckles adjusted just a little bit during the washing process. However, with all the agitation of washing, this was to be expected.
If you have a teacup or very small breed, this harness isn't for you. It is available in four sizes though:
- Small – Chest size 16″-24″
- Medium – Chest size 24″-31″
- Large – Chest size 31″-41″
- Extra-Large – Chest size 41″-47″
It's also available in three colors:
- orange
- teal
- black
I was also pleased with the durability of this harness. It's made from strong materials and definitely feels like it is built to last. I have a feeling we're going to be using the Embark Adventure Dog Harness for many years to come.
It is quadruple sewn with military grade thread. The company says that it is a great choice for service, therapy and rescue dogs. It's also equipped with 2 strong attachment points – one on the chest and one on the back. This is great for owners who have dogs that pull or would like to use a front clip attachment to have better control over their pet in certain situations.
Another feature that I found to be unique, yet very useful is the name tag that is built into the harness. It includes a spot for you to write your dog's name and your name and contact number. I would have liked to have seen this label on the outside of the harness, so it's easily visible to anyone that finds your pet.
Sometimes when a dog is found, the good Samaritan doesn't want to take off the harness or do anything that may cause the dog to feel uneasy. If the label was on the outside, it could be easily seen by anyone who found the dog. Hiding it on the inside isn't a deal breaker, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Overall, this is a great harness for dogs who pull or just to use as a daily walking harness. It's comfortable for the dog, easy to put on and take off, and the Embark Adventure Dog Harness is affordable on any budget. You can purchase one on Amazon for $24.99, no matter what size you need.
