Eggs are a great source of protein for dogs. They're filled with essential nutrients like riboflavin (a B vitamin) and minerals such as selenium. They are also a highly digestible protein source. Not only does this recipe include eggs, it also calls for vegetables, applesauce and brewer's yeast.
Wondering what brewer's yeast is? It may not sound like it, but it's actually a very beneficial supplement that adds a lot of protein and zinc to your pup's diet. It's also high in omega fatty acids, B vitamins and antioxidants.
It's easy to see the obvious health benefits of brewer's yeast, and there are a number of invisible benefits as well. This supplement helps with immune system health and it's even been shown to aid in flea and tick prevention.
Now that you know how healthy this recipe is, I guess I better tell you how to make it!
But, before we get started, you need to know that this recipe is not 100% nutritionally balanced. You'll need to discuss your dog's homemade diet with your veterinarian to ensure that you're cooking recipes that will give him the proper nutrition. This recipe would be great as a supplement to any commercial or homemade diet, but it should not be the only meal you feed your Fido.
The serving size for this recipe is about 4 golf ball-sized cakes per 25 pounds of weight. As you can see, it will take quite a bit of this food to feed a large breed dog. That is another reason why it shouldn't be the only food that you feed your pooch.

There are others as well. Just be sure to do your research before adding any fruits or vegetables to your dog's homemade food.
Preheat your oven to 350°.
Once you've cooked the rice and vegetables until tender, mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Then place small rounded tablespoonfuls on a well greased cookie sheet.
Bake in the 350° oven for 12-15 minutes. They be firm and begin to turn brown on the top when they're done.
Once they're cool, you can feed them directly to your dog. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or freeze them in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
