If your dog has allergies, you can substitute rice flour, coconut flour or any other type of flour that is suitable for his digestion. You could also substitute quinoa flakes in place of the oats, if need be.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cranberries dried or fresh
  • 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seed
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 tbsp. honey

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350º F.

Add the flour, oats, ground flax seed, honey and yogurt to a large mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients together until it forms a dough.

If the dough is too wet, add a tablespoon of flour at a time until it stiffens up. If it is too stiff, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it’s moist enough.

As you can see in my video guide above, I just drop the cranberry dog treats on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Use between 1 teaspoon and1 tablespoon of dough, depending on the size of your dog.

If you’d like to be a little bit fancier, you can cut the dog treats into shapes. Lightly flour a flat surface and roll the dough out until it’s about 1/4″ thick.

Cut out cookies with cookie cutter shapes. You could also use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into small squares or triangles.

Whether your make drop cookies or you use cookie cutters, place the cranberry dog treats on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake the treats for 20 minutes.

Once they’ve cooled, you can feed them to your pup.
