With thousands of dog treat products on the market, it’s extremely challenging for the average owner to know which dog treats will be the safest and healthiest choice for their pooch. But, it is safe to say that every owner understands the need for a dog treat that is made with quality ingredients in an upstanding facility. In this review, I’m going to take a closer look at Dr. Dalton's Premium Dog Treats to help you decide whether or not they are a good option for your canine companion.
So, what should you be looking for when shopping for dog treats?
This is a loaded question, as every dog is different and has individual nutritional needs. The first thing you need to think about is the type of treat that you want to purchase. Are you looking for treats to train your puppy? A daily treat to spoil your furry friend with? Are you shopping for a dog treat that will add some high quality nutrition to Fido's diet?
Different types of dog treats offer different benefits. For example, dog treats made specifically for training are typically smaller and have less calories than treats used to add nutrition to the canine diet. This is because your dog will be eating multiple training treats everyday, and you don’t want him gaining excess weight.
Dr. Dalton's Premium Dog Treats are safe and healthy. You can even order them with the convenience of a subscription plan if you don't want to go to the pet store to purchase treats regularly. Unfortunately, due to the high quality of the ingredients, they're also more expensive than most commercial dog treats. Let me fill you in on the details!

Dr. Dalton's Premium Dog Treats Review
These dog treats are sourced, produced and packaged in the United States. There is no need to worry about ingredients from countries with loose regulations on pet food ingredients, like China.
They are made from high-quality, low-fat meat, and that's the only ingredient. That's right – these are single ingredient treats. They are ideal for dogs with food allergies and digestive sensitivities. This also means that they do not contain any additives, sugar, salt, coloring, flavoring, sweeteners, gluten, grain, chemicals or preservatives.
Since they are made of 100% meat, they're extremely enticing to dogs. As you can see in my video review, both of our dogs love Dr. Dalton's Premium Dog Treats. Our Labrador will eat anything, so I wasn't surprised when she snatched one from my hand. But, our Beagle is a bit of a picky eater, so I was happy to see that she really enjoyed these treats.
They are available in three flavors:
- Simply Beef
- Simply Chicken
- Meat Medley (made with chicken, beef and pork)
I received the Meat Medley treats. Their guaranteed analysis states that they contain a minmum of 80% protein and 10% fat. There are about 2.8 calories in each piece. Of course, all the pieces are different sizes, so some may have a bit more while others have a bit less, but needless to say this is a low calorie snack.
Keep in mind that they are not recommended for puppies weighing less than 15 pounds.
In my video review I also pause for a moment to let you hear my dogs crunching on Dr. Dalton's Premium Dog Treats. I can break them in half easily with my fingers, but they are quite crunchy. If your dog has missing teeth or dental problems, you'd be better off feeding him a softer snack.
These are absolutely some of the healthiest dog treats on the market. However, because of this they are also fairly expensive. A 3-ounce package costs $14.99. They're not available on Amazon, but you can order them through the company's website.
However, you do have the opportunity to sign up for a subscription service to receive one package of treats automatically delivered to your doorstep once per month. There are many different options for subscription packages ranging from 6 to 24 months. If you decide to subscribe, the price of the 3-ounce package drops to $11.99.
