The dog, an Akita named Rocky, was found exhausted and suffering from cuts from its paws and was carried down the highest mountain in England by 13 brave volunteers.

The 33kg (74 lbs) dog was “refusing to move” after walking up Scafell Pike in the Lake District national park on Friday, the Keswick Mountain Rescue team stated.
According to the team, the dog's owners requested help at 6:25 p.m. (1:25 p.m. ET), which sent 13 members to help.
The team said they put Rocky in a bag on a stretcher and carried the pet down the mountain.
“Despite being quite a large dog at 33kg, it was a joy to carry such a relatively lightweight casualty. The casualty remained cool, calm and positively regal throughout,” statement said.
The rescue took the team 4 hours and 18 minutes; it was their 42nd mission this year.
Believe it or not, this is not the first time this happened. In July 2020, they also helped a dog back down the mountain.
A 123-pound St. Bernard called Daisy needed help from Scafell Pike after showing pain in her rear legs and inability to move.
Scafell Pike is England's highest mountain at 978 meters (3,209 feet) and is located in the famous Lake District. This area is popular with hikers and tourists.
