For some pet owners, the thought of a dog harness brings to mind poorly behaved dogs that pull on their leash or are aggressive.
Even though harnesses are used as training tools, a dog harness can also be beneficial to have for everyday walks to ensure effective control, comfort, and safety for your dog.
Harnesses have many benefits over a traditional dog collar. The two most important aspects are better control over your pet and discourage leash pulling.
Traditional collars can be physically harmful to dogs, causing thorax or spinal injuries, but harnesses can be used effectively on virtually any dog.
In my household, we've tried many pet harnesses just for walking, and many of them didn’t allow our dogs the full range of motion or they rubbed on their chest and caused chafe marks.
Over the years, I've tested a huge number of dog harnesses, so for this best dog harness review and ranking list, I set out to find top brands that are safe, comfortable, with plenty of range of motion, and consider many other factors.

Most harnesses I bought and tested for these rankings come in five sizes, ranging from xx-small to large/extra-large. They can fit dogs with a girth of 13-42 inches.
All four of my dogs also wear their traditional collar when wearing some harnesses like Ruffwear Front Range, and one of the keys for me was harnesses where the collars don't rub against the harness at all.
Leaving collars on my dogs means they always have their ID tags on and we have one more D-ring to attach a leash to.
Another thing I needed in a harness is for it to be put on easily and for it to stay on the dog.
Our chocolate Labrador Saddie will sometimes wiggle her way out of a harness, and this is a big no-no for me.
We had bad luck with some harnesses that we tried on her and they only lasted about 15 minutes before she found a way to escape from them.
These are just a few variables that I considered for ranking best harnesses for dogs and I'll go into more details under each dog harness review below.
Top 10 Best Dog Harness Brands
1 Ruffwear Front Range Everyday Harness
The Overall Best Harness for Dogs
The Ruffwear Front Range Everday Harness is made for round-the-clock use. Your dog can comfortably move, sleep, eat and perform all his other daily tasks while wearing this dog harness. As I mentioned, it is equipped with two separate leash attachments for additional control or training purposes.
Often, dog owners and trainers will use the clip located on the dog’s chest while leash training to teach the pet not to pull. There are many different types of harnesses that aren’t safe for dogs, but you don’t have to worry about safety with this harness from Ruffwear.
It’s made from a soft, comfortable material and has additional padding in the chest and belly areas to help with load dispersion. This harness also has four adjustment points, allowing you to get an ideal fit. It’s easy to adjust for a customized fit, and the plastic hardware holds the adjustable straps in place so you don’t have to worry about adjusting the fit every time you put the harness on your dog.
I also like the ID pocket that is built into this harness. You can store your dog’s ID tags inside the pocket so you don’t have to hear that annoying jingle all the time. It comes in really handy while we’re hiking. Nothing is more irritating than hearing the jingle of your dog’s tags while you’re trying to enjoy the peacefulness of nature, but I don’t want to leave the tags at home in case our dogs get lost on the trail.
There is also an ID tag built into the inside of this Ruffwear Front Range Everyday Harness. You can write your dog’s name and your information on the harness itself so it can be returned to you if you lose it. This ID tag can also act as a second line of defense in case your dog ever becomes lost and he isn’t wearing his ID tags or they fall off at some point in his journey.
To measure your dog for a harness like this one, you simply use a fabric tape measure to measure the distance around his chest at its deepest point. These dog harnesses are made in Vietnam, and they are equipped with reflective trim to keep your dog visible at night and in low lighting.
Harnesses have many benefits over traditional collars, and one is the variety of sizes and styles available. The Ruffwear Front Range Everyday Harness comes in five sizes and fits dogs with a girth of 13-42 inches.
Unlike other similar harnesses, the Ruffwear Front Range Everyday Harness is not made for use in the car. Some harnesses, and you’ll see some later in this review, are made to attach to a seat belt in order to provide your dog with safety on the go. This is not one of them.
2 EzyDog Drive Safety Travel Dog Car Harness
The Best Harness for Car Safety
So let’s talk about a harness that does provide top-quality car safety for dogs. Many pet parents travel with their dogs on a regular basis, and just like you need to make sure your human children are safe in the car, you want to be sure that your furry children are safe as well.
The EzyDog Car Harness is one of the highest-rated dog harnesses for crash test safety. This harness was specifically designed with canine vehicle safety in mind. According to the AAA & Kurgo Pet Passenger Survey, three in 10 respondents (about 29%) admitted to being distracted by their dog while they were driving, and 65% admitted to engaging in potentially distracting activities while driving with their dog in the vehicle.
The best way to keep your dog safe in the event of an accident is to restrain him in some way. This may be with a kennel or with a safety harness. They make specific dog harnesses for traveling purposes, but that’s kind of inconvenient. Every time you take your dog for a ride you need to put the harness on him and take it off once you get back home.
Having a harness like this EzyDog one that is both safe in the car and functional for walking and controlling your pet, is the best option. You won’t have to worry about switching harnesses or taking a harness off your pet every time he gets out of the car. You just need to make sure that you find a quality harness that will provide the highest level of safety while your pet is in the car and also provides quality and comfort while walking him.
This unique dog harness has a patent-pending design and is similar to the three-point seat belt design that is required in all new vehicles. It has a wide, webbed structure and more padding than other similar products. This ensures that the force is distributed evenly across the dog’s chest in the event of an accident to reduce the chance of injury. There are also side straps that reduce your dog’s lateral motion by anchoring him in place.
The key to finding a good and versatile car harness for dogs is similar to finding a car seat for a baby – you need to check its crash test ratings. The company put this pet harness through some rigorous safety testing including static tensile testing and dynamic crash testing of all the critical parts of the harness including the hardware, stitching, and webbing.
It has been crash-tested up to 75 pounds. Your car must have seat latches that come standard in all new vehicles in order to use this harness. The harness comes in sizes to fit dogs with a girth of 31-60 inches, but check the guidelines before ordering. You’ll see plastic hardware on most dog harnesses, but this harness uses forged high carbon steel. It’s also made with automotive-grade seatbelt webbing, ballistic nylon, and neoprene, so it’s as comfortable as it is safe.
Your dog will be safe and secure in your vehicle while wearing this harness, but it’s also great for everyday use while walking or training your dog as well. There is a D-ring on the back of the harness, the part that’s on your dog’s back, so you can quickly and easily attach a leash when needed.
3 Freedom No-Pull Harness Training Package
The Best No-Pull Dog Harness
The Freedom No-Pull Harness Training Package is specifically designed to stop your dog’s pulling without causing him any physical pain. According to the company’s website, 70% of a canine’s power comes from his back legs.
Have you noticed that when your dog pulls on his leash he’s using his back legs to push himself off the ground and his front legs usually jump up off the ground? This harness fixes that problem. Pulling or jerking on the leash can cause some serious physical problems for your dog and it’s also painful for him. I know, you would think that the pain alone would stop him from pulling, but unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
The company has specifically designed this dog harness to create a harmless sensation behind your dog’s back legs that are designed to avert his attention from the desire to pull on his leash. The Freedom dog harness was designed by licensed veterinarians, so it avoids all the painful areas that will cause your dog discomfort. Its patented design is one of a kind. Trust me, I’ve looked and you won’t find a similar product on the market.
There is no choking or pain involved with the correction given by this harness, and it gives you complete control no matter how large or strong your dog is. This harness wraps around your pet’s waste and around each back leg. Then it runs up your dog’s back and attaches to his collar and continues up to attach to your leash. The Freedom Dog Harness is available in four sizes and fits dogs weighing 1-100 pounds.
4 Guardian Gear Lift and Lead 4-in-1 Harness
The Best Harness for Lifting Your Dog
Many experts understand that a harness is the best choice for use on any canine. Collars can cause a lot of physical problems and it is much better for your dog if the leash is attached to his back or his chest rather than to his neck.
As we’ve discussed, harnesses are also a great way to keep your pet safe in the car. The harness can be beneficial to pet parents with senior dogs or disabled dogs as well. If you need to lift your dog up into the car or up flights of stairs regularly because of an injury, disability, or because he’s getting older and can no longer use stairs, a harness can make things much easier.
The Guardian Gear Lift and Lead 4-in-1 Harness allow dog owners to easily lift any size dog weighing up to 110 pounds. This pet harness is made from 600-denier nylon and has a contoured chest and back support that is lined in fleece for added comfort.
It comes in seven sizes ranging from small to XXX-large and fits dogs with a chest girth of 16-47 inches. The chest harness can also be used to secure your dog in the car, and it converts to a carrying harness. It's also equipped with a carrying strap to allow you to pick your pet up easily and comfortably.
The Guardian Gear Lift and Lead 4-in-1 Harness allow you to pick your canine companion up with less strain on your back and legs. The carrying strap also doubles as a lead, so you get a leash and harness in one with this product.
This harness slides easily underneath your dog’s belly and then wraps around and hooks on his back. It’s easy to put on and there are four adjustment points to accomplish the perfect fit. The chest pad spans the width of your pet’s underside and extends down to his belly to disperse the weight evenly when you lift him.
5 Kurgo Wander Dog Backpack
The Best Backpack Dog Harness
We love to take our dogs hiking with us, and it’s nice when they can carry their own weight. Each of our girls has their own backpack dog harness. We can fill it with the supplies they’ll need during our hikes like food and snacks, water, collapsible bowls, and a leash.
Most of the places we take them to allow dogs to hike off-leash, but some parks require your dog to be on a leash at all times. For these times, it’s convenient to have a dog backpack harness like the Kurgo Wander Dog Backpack. This way your pet can carry his own supplies and you can attach a leash to his harness whenever necessary without having to switch to a different harness or use a collar in combination with his backpack harness.
This dog backpack harness from Kurgo is made from heavy-duty polyester and is recommended for dogs weighing 30-85 pounds. Its adjustable saddlebag design allows for a comfortable and customized fit. This top-rated dog harness is ergonomically designed with padded spine support that contours to your dog’s back and helps to distribute the weight evenly.
The harness is covered with a water-resistant coating, making it ideal for use in the great outdoors. We’ve been caught in the rain plenty of times while hiking and that can ruin your supplies quickly if your pack isn’t water-resistant. The Kurgo Wander Dog Backpack also features four reflective trim strips for increased visibility at night and in low lighting.
6 rabbitgoo Reflective Dog Harness No-Pull
If you’re one of the many dog owners that have to walk your dog at night, you’ll want to invest in a reflective harness, and nothing beats rabbitgoo harnesses in this area. Although it’s known for its reflective qualities, this is also a great no-pull harness which I've reviewed here and that's currently the best seller on Amazon.
The leash attaches to the front of this harness, which allows you to steer your dog to the side or redirect his attention toward you if he begins to get distracted. It’s a great training tool and an excellent leash for everyday use. This harness has four adjustment points so you can obtain the perfect fit.
Of course, as its name suggests, the rabbitgoo dog harness features reflective strips sewn into the nylon to make your dog easier to see at night. The company claims that your dog is visible up to 1,000 feet away while wearing this harness. When you purchase this harness you’ll also get a matching reflective leash, and the martingale loop on the chest strap prevents it from twisting.
7 Solvit Deluxe Car Safety Harness
If the car harness above wasn’t what you’re looking for, try the PetSafe Deluxe Car Safety Harness. This is a similar product that will restrain your dog and keep him from distracting you while you drive. It has also been put through rigorous crash testing in a DOT-certified facility and has been stress-tested to more than 3000 pounds.
Your dog will be safe, secure, and comfortable in this harness. The chest and back plates are fully padded, but they are also equipped with a breathable liner to keep your dog from overheating.
The harness integrates with your vehicle's seat belt system, and the company says that it will work with any vehicle. Animal protection laws are getting more and more strict, and some states already require dogs to be restrained while riding in a vehicle.
This PetSafe car safety harness is available in four sizes and fits pets ranging from 6 to 120 pounds. It’s also covered by the company’s lifetime warranty against workmanship and defects in the material.
Like the above-mentioned harness, you can attach this harness to the safety seat anchors made for children’s car seats, but you’ll have to buy an optional 3-point attachment accessory to do so. This is actually a good thing because you can use this harness with or without the seat anchors, unlike the previous recommendation which cannot be used without the anchors.
8 Chai’s Choice Best No-Pull Dog Harness
We’ve already discussed how dogs that pull can be a danger to their owner and to themselves. If your dog won’t stop pulling on his leash no matter how much leash training you do, you need to invest in a no-pull harness.
Chai’s Choice Best Front Range No-Pull Dog Harness is an excellent choice, and not only me but other pet owners love it, and there are many reviews from dog trainers that say they only use this no-pull harness when training dogs. The scratch-resistant outer layer is durable and stylish.
It’s also ergonomically designed to be comfortable for your pet and easy for you to get on and off of him. This recommended dog harness from Chai’s Choice is equipped with soft, sponge-like padding and a lightweight mesh lining on the belly and chest plates.
There are four easy-to-adjust straps and two leash attachment points. You can either hook your leash to the zinc-alloy D-ring on the back of the harness or the webbing with a zinc-alloy O-ring on the chest. This leash has an easy seat belt attachment and is also covered with 3M reflective material for visibility at night. Consumers were impressed with the durability of this dog harness.
9 Puppia Soft Dog Harness
One of the top-selling dogs harnesses on the market for dogs of any size is the Puppia Soft Dog Harness. It is made from 100% soft polyester air mesh – a lightweight material that is breathable and very soft to the touch.
If your dog enjoys being fashion-forward, you’ll love all the options that are available with this harness. Unlike similar products, it is available in a large variety of colors (12 to be exact) and comes in six sizes. This harness from Puppia is equipped with an adjustable chest strap and a simple buckle that allows you to put the harness on and take it off your dog quickly and easily.
The D-ring on the back of the harness also lets you attach any standard leash to the harness in seconds. You can purchase this harness in six sizes ranging from extra-small to XX-large, and it will fit dogs with neck size of 7.5-19 inches and chest girth of 9-39 inches.
I could not believe how soft this dog harness is. I knew that it was going to be extremely comfortable for my dog! Many pet parents love the fact that this harness is machine washable. Although that’s true, the company does recommend hand washing and air drying instead.
Still, it’s nice to have a dog harness that is easy to clean. Another thing that consumers mentioned was that the sizing instructions for these harnesses are extremely precise, so you need to be sure to measure your dog’s neck and chest girth before ordering.
10 Holt Total Control Dog Harness
There is a proper way to walk a dog. That’s obvious to anyone who has seen a well-behaved pooch strolling happily next to his owner through the dog park. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are overly excitable dogs that refuse to walk properly on a leash.
They may do well for a short time, but as soon as they see another dog or a human walking toward them the pulling, lunging, and jumping begins and there is nothing you can do about it. Maybe your dog is a puppy and he just needs a bit of training or maybe you’ve adopted an older dog or let the situation go for too long and you now have an unruly adult dog.
Either way, it’s never too late to get the control back. It will certainly take a lot more time, patience, and energy to train an older dog, but it can be done, and the Holt Total Control Dog Harness from Coastal Pet Products is a great tool to use.
This humane dog harness helps you gain control while walking an excitable pet without causing any kind of physical harm. It applies an even amount of pressure underneath the dog’s chest instead of pulling on his neck, and it has a simple one-piece design that is much easier to put on your dog than other similar products. This favorite dog harness is made from soft, braided nylon, so it’s comfortable for your dog as well.
It may not look very durable, but this harness has been proven to stop the pulling of the most excitable large breeds. The simplistic design applies gentle pressure to correct the dog when he begins to jump, lunge or pull on his lead. This dog harness from Coastal Pet Products doesn’t have buckles or clasps like the other harnesses on this list.
You simply slip it over your dog’s head and then adjust the sturdy metal hardware for a customized fit. As you can see, there really isn’t much to this harness. You may be wondering how it works so well if it has so much less material than other traditional dog harnesses.
The simple design is actually this harnesses biggest advantage. Consumers love how easy it is to put on their dog and use it. It may not have all the fancy features of many of the other harnesses I’ve mentioned, but that’s reflected in the price. You can pick this harness up on Amazon for less than $12!
The Bottom Line
What you should know before buying a dog harness
The first thing you’re going to need to know is how to select a harness that is appropriate for your dog. You’ll need to think about how you’re going to use the harness most.
Once you’ve decided its primary use you’ll need to do some research and select a harness that meets your needs and is safe. You’ll also need to keep your dog’s comfort in mind.
Once you’ve settled on a harness, you can’t just order one in the color you prefer. Every good dog harness manufacturer should provide pet parents with instructions for measuring their dog. Since every harness is different and every dog is built differently, you’ll need to follow their instructions and measure carefully.
If I were you, I’d measure three times just to be sure that the measurements are 100% accurate. Now, speaking of measuring, you should never buy a harness for a dog that isn’t fully grown; unless you plan to buy more than one. If you have a puppy that pulls on his leash, you may need to buy a harness that will fit him as a puppy and then purchase a second one when he outgrows it. If you can, you should wait until your pup is full-grown before measuring him for a harness.
What do I know about dog harnesses?
You may be wondering if I’m some kind of dog harness expert. No. I’m definitely not. In fact, before writing this article I didn’t know anything more about the dog harness than the average pet parent. I have done product reviews and written articles about dog harnesses, but most of my research has been about selecting the right dog harness for a particular dog and how to choose a safe and comfortable harness for your pet.
What I do know is that I am a meticulous researcher, and my job as a freelance writer has given me the knowledge to find credible sources. I have spent many hours researching pet harnesses on the market, and I’ve learned a lot in the process. I’m confident that I know exactly what pet parents should be looking for in a harness.
Can a dog harness improve my dog’s health?
This is a tough question to answer. Will a harness improve your pet’s health or add to his overall health and well-being? No. But a good dog harness could save your pet from the physical pain associated with pulling on a traditional collar. Lots of dogs pull on their lead, and this can do damage to their neck and throat.
As I mentioned, you can also use lifting harnesses to help dogs with disabilities and senior pets. Will this make them healthier? No, but it will add to their quality of life. A top-quality car harness can also reduce the likelihood of your dog getting hurt in an automobile accident. That won’t affect his health now, but it’s certainly a preventative measure for better health in the future.
Who should buy dog harnesses?
If it were up to the dog harness manufacturers, they would say every pet parent needs to buy one, but the truth is you really don’t. Dog harnesses are not a must-have item for dog owners.
They can benefit your pet and make your life a little easier, but you certainly don’t need one. As all dog parents know, there are many must-have items that a dog requires including food, a collar, and a leash.
If there isn’t any money left in your budget for a dog harness, don’t worry. There are plenty of ways to leash train your dog without using a harness. The best dog harness will definitely make it much easier, but it isn’t required.
If you can’t find a Dog harness that fits your PET properly, you’ll be better off sticking with a traditional DOG collar. Remember too that all dogs are shaped differently. There are hundreds of different dog harnesses on the market, but if your dog has a unique body structure, you may not be able to find a harness that fits him correctly.
You don’t want to buy a harness if you can’t find one that will fit your dog’s figure precisely. Loose harnesses can be a hazard, and harnesses that are too tight may end up chafing your dog or cutting off his circulation.
How I chose these dog harnesses
After a lot of research, I was able to narrow down my choices. Do you have any idea how many dogs harnesses there are on the market? I knew that the easiest thing to do would be to break my options up into categories and then do the research to select top-quality dog harnesses in each category.
I knew what characteristics each harness needed to bring to the table: quality, safety, and comfort. It was really easy to narrow down the ones that didn’t meet those guidelines. After I made the first cut I needed to get expert opinions and find out what pet parents who had tried these products thought. Just because one pet owner gave the harness a rave review didn’t mean that all pet owners agreed – that’s where the hours of research came in.
How I researched and evaluated each brand of dog brush
Aside from my own product testing, I also spent hours online culling through consumer reviews and reading the advice from experts in the veterinary field and the pet product industry. I started by researching what specifications dog owners should be looking for when shopping for a good dog harness.
Once I knew what features to look for, the real work began. I started sifting through the hundreds of available options and weeded out all the choices that were unsafe or weak. I based my decisions on information that I found from experts in the field and from manufacturers’ websites. Once I had the list narrowed down to harnesses that met my standards, it was time to find out what other pet parents thought.
I culled through thousands of consumer reviews to find out how these products held up in the real world. Did dog owners like them? Were dogs comfortable wearing these harnesses? What features were pet parents disappointed with? I used all this information to make my final cuts and come up with this list of the ten best harnesses for dogs options on the market.
My best dog harness pick
I chose the Ruffwear Front Range Everday Harness as my top pick for an everyday harness that your dog can wear around comfortably for long periods of time. The padded chest and belly panel offer ideal load dispersion, meaning it won’t put unnecessary pressure on any area of your dog’s body. The four adjustment points allow you to find a customizable fit that will offer a full range of motion without chafing your dog’s armpits.
I usually don’t care for products with plastic hardware, but in this case, the plastic is thick and durable. The buckles are strong and the plastic adjusters slide easily and stay in place. You don’t have to worry about them sliding around while your dog is wearing the harness. Our chocolate Labrador wears this harness all day and we have never had to readjust the straps.
There are two leash attachments on this harness: one on the dog’s back and one on his chest. These dual attachments are perfect to use for dog training, especially leash training, with your pet. This harness from Ruffwear is made in Vietnam and comes in five sizes ranging from xx-small to x-large. They can fit dogs with a chest girth of 13-42 inches.
One thing I do need to mention about the sizing – you should size up if your dog is on the upper end of the size limit. I ordered a harness for Chloe, our boxer, and her chest girth is 31 inches. I am positive that I measured correctly as I followed the instructions on the company’s website, and I even measured three times just to be sure. I ordered a medium harness, which was supposed to fit a dog with measurements of 27-32 inches. Unfortunately, it was too tight on Chloe, but it worked well for our lab, Saddie.
I love how easy it is to put this collar on my dogs. Two simple buckles and they are ready to go. As I mentioned, you can adjust the straps to the correct size requirements of your dog the first time he wears it and you’ll never need to do it again – unless your dog gains or loses weight of course. It’s so easy to put this harness on your dog. It takes less than a minute for me to fashion it on my girls, and that is especially amazing when you have a super wiggly puppy.
All you have to do is slide the harness over your dog’s head and fasten both plastic buckles. It’s that easy! As you’ll see in my review, this top pick harness for dogs is also equipped with a hidden pocket to attach your dog’s ID tags to. There is a short attachment inside the pocket and you can quickly fix your dog’s tag to it and then stuff them into the hidden pocket.
I love this feature because it means our dog’s tags won’t get lost out in the woods or caught on anything while they’re exploring. There is also a tag on the inside of the panel that goes on your pet’s back. It has space for you to write your dog’s name and your telephone number. This is great if your dog gets lost, and it’s also nice just in case you take the harness off somewhere and forget it. Hopefully, a good Samaritan would return it to you.
As you know we’re active with our dogs and often spend long days outside with them, so I always try to look for products with reflective qualities. The Ruffwear Front Range Everyday Harness has reflective strips on all sides. Your dog will be well seen at night or in dim lighting. This is always a concern for me in case our dogs get lost or they are outside at night and choose not to listen when it’s time to come inside.
Flaws but not deal breakers
As I’ve already stated, the sizing runs a bit small. If your dog is within the last 2 inches of the size recommendations for, say, a medium harness, you should definitely order the large. If you don’t, I can almost guarantee you’ll need to return it for another size.
You can find Ruffwear products in many pet stores, so if your local pet store carries these harnesses and you can bring your dog to the store to try one on I would highly recommend it. Nothing is more frustrating than having to return a product because it’s the wrong size. You’re so excited to use it, and then you find out it doesn’t fit. Ugh!
Another drawback to this harness is that it is strictly a walking harness. It’s not equipped to be used in the car. You’re not able to buckle your dog in with a seat belt using this harness. If you’ll be traveling with your pet you’ll still need another way to secure him while driving. I have an SUV and our girls ride in the back with a barrier when we’re going hiking so I don’t have to switch their harnesses.
What to look forward to
Dog owners have to walk their dogs, and they always will. Yes, it’s true that there are canine treadmills, and you could hire someone to walk your dog for you but no matter what the situation, you’ll be required to walk your dog yourself many times over the course of his life. The amount of walking the two of you do together will greatly depend on your dog and how much exercise he needs, but it will have to happen at some point.
Like all other necessary activities, there are bound to continue to be advancements in the products that we use to make these activities easier. When it comes to dog walking, a harness is the number one tool that will make things easier for you and your dog. We can definitely expect to see some new variations of the traditional harness and more convenient features added to the harnesses that are already on pet store shelves.
Wrapping it up
Most people think of dog walking as a way to help their pet get some much-needed exercise. You shouldn’t think of it like that at all. Think of it as a bonding experience that you can do with your pet that will benefit the overall health and well-being of both of you. Your dog loves to go for walks and even if you don’t, it should still make you happy that you’re able to do something with your pet that gives him so much joy.
You’re going to dislike walking your pet a whole lot more if you don’t have the right tools. You need a good leash with a comfortable handle and a comfy pair of walking shoes. If your dog is well behaved you can certainly use a collar to walk him, but a harness will be much more comfortable for him and it will give you more control. A great quality dog harness isn’t just a benefit to the dog; it meets the owners’ needs as well.
