It is also critically important that you create a recipe that will meet your dog's nutritional needs. If not, your pet will quickly become nutrient deficient. This would make it even harder for his body to fight the cancer.

In a well-known study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 27 home-cooked recipes for dogs with cancer were evaluated. These recipes came from books and internet sources. Unfortunately, none of the recipes met the minimum nutritional contents required for a commercial adult dog food diet.

It is extremely difficult to formulate a recipe that will meet all of your dog's nutritional needs. If you're considering feeding your pet a homemade food for dogs with cancer, you must work with a veterinarian or canine nutritionist.

Homemade Chicken & Beef Patties Food for Dogs with Cancer RecipeIngredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 2 lbs. ground chicken
  • 1 cored apple
  • 3 eggs with shells
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 cups raw goat milk
  • 1 zucchini (cubed)
  • 2 sweet potatoes (cubed)
  • 2 cups kale

Directions

This is a raw dog food recipe, so it's very easy to prepare. All you have to do is puree all of the ingredients in a food processor. This will make a “loaf-like” mixture.

raw dog food patties recipeLine a cookie sheet with wax paper. Divide the mixture into meal-sized patties. The serving size recommendation for this recipe is about 1/2 cup of food for every 20 pounds of body weight.

This serving size is for 2 servings per day. So, if your dog weighs 20 pounds, he would eat about 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the evening (read more here).

Place the patties on the wax paper and freeze. Once frozen, you can store the patties in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Defrost the patties before serving them to your dog.
