Adding supplements to your pet's food is an easy way to increase the nutritional content of his diet. By definition, superfoods are especially rich in nutrients and exceptionally beneficial for overall health and well-being. Like supplements, adding superfoods to Fido's diet is an easy way to boost the nutrient content. Because Animals Superfood Supplement for Dogs combines the benefits of superfoods with the convenience of supplements.
Many superfoods, like pumpkin and coconut, are naturally appetizing to dogs. Others, like wheat grass and turmeric, may need to be disguised in food or treats in order for your dog to eat them willingly. This supplement for dogs blends multiple superfood ingredients together in an appealing powder.
This superfood supplement for dogs is made with 7 types of seaweed, so I was skeptical that our dogs would enjoy having it added to their meals. Do they enjoy it or turn their nose up when I sprinkled this supplement on their food? Find all the details in my review below.
Because Animals Superfood Supplement for Dogs Review
This superfood supplement for dogs is specifically formulated to boost your dog's immune system, aid in skin and coat health and improve digestion. As I mentioned, it's made with 7 different types of seaweed as well as superfoods like blueberries, turmeric, pumpkin, wheat grass and coconut.
Because Animals also includes pro- and prebiotics in this supplement blend.
It is made with all-natural ingredients, and all of the ingredients are human-grade. This superfood supplement for dogs is Certified Organic, meaning it does not contain animal products or by-products and has not been tested on animals.
According to Because Animals, the marine trace minerals in this supplement help to maintain healthy cardiovascular and metabolic functions. They also say that included Omega fatty acids help to support skin and coat health, while the antioxidants in the supplement support your dog's general health.
There are over 250 million priobotics per gram of Because Animals Superfood Supplement for Dogs to support your dog's digestive tract and immune system.
The full list of ingredients is: dried seaweed meal, organic pumpkin powder, organic whole ground blueberries, organic whole leaf wheatgrass powder, organic coconut flour, organic inulin, dried Bacillus coagulans fermentation product and ground turmeric.
The serving instructions are to mix the supplement with your dog's meal once per day. They company recommends either mixing it in with wet food or mixing it with a small amount of water if your dog eats dry kibble. I just sprinkle it on top of my dogs' kibble (as you can see in my video review above).
Serving size recommendations are:
- 1/4 tsp. for dogs weighing less than 10 pounds
- 1/2 tsp. for dogs weighing 11-25 pounds
- 1 tsp. for dogs weighing 26-60 pounds
- 1-2 tsp. for dogs over 61 pounds
For our Labrador, Saddie, one container would last about a month if I gave her 1 teaspoon per day. If I increase it to 2 teaspoons per day, the 4.4-ounce container would only last about 16 days. We also have a Beagle, Molly, which cuts the longevity of the product down even more.
You can purchase a 4.4-ounce container on Amazon for $25 right now. That's more than $2 per day for our dogs. Depending on the size of your pooch and how many dogs you have, you can see that the supplement won't be affordable on every budget.
However, the price is quite similar to other supplements of similar quality. Feeding your dog quality nutrition isn't cheap – we all know that. If you can afford to add this superfood supplement for dogs to your pet's diet, I certainly think it's worth the cost.
