TOP #73: The Competitive Dog Sport of Dock Diving

One of the more popular dog sports out there, dock diving has been around for decades. However, recent years have seen it grow bigger and faster than ever, most likely due to a rising number of pet owners and those who take an interest in being active with their dogs, participating at events, sports and competitions.

I have personally stumbled into attempting dock diving with my Labrador Retriever, Saddie, who enjoys water and took to this activity right away. With that in mind, I decided to reach out to experts of this dog sport, and was lucky enough to have Kristen Cooper of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club (NSDTRC USA) to join me and talk about it.

Kristen has been involved with the sport of dock diving in various capacities for many years, and in this podcast episode she shares her first-hand experience on how she got started and eventually served as a judge. She also gives us tips for beginnings looking to get into dock diving and what else you should know about this sport.
