Do you dream of the day when you can snuggle Fido without having to smell his stinky breath? There are a lot of products on the market that can help stop foul breath. If you're looking for a cheaper, healthier alternative to commercial products, try these homemade dog treats for bad breath.
Halitosis is the scientific term for bad breath. It is usually caused when odor-producing bacteria builds up in your dog's mouth. Bacteria in the lungs or gut can also be a cause of halitosis in dogs.
While it is unlikely that bad breath is a symptom of something more serious, it could be. For this reason, it's important to seek veterinary care if your dog's bad breath comes on suddenly or suddenly becomes severe.
Treating your dog's bad breath will depend completely on the cause of the problem. If his bad breath is mild to moderate, these homemade dog treats for bad breath may help. If his breath is severe, you're probably going to need something stronger than these biscuits.

- 1 cup beef stock
- 1 cup mint (fresh or dried)
- 1 cup parsley (fresh or dried)
- 2 tbsp. canola oil
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°.
Heat the beef stock in the microwave for about 1 minute. Combine the warmed beef stock, mint, parsley, and canola oil in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Gradually stir in the flour.
Knead the mixture until a smooth dough forms. As you will see in my video guide above, this recipe for homemade dog treats for bad breath will create a dry dough. If it seems sticky, you may need to add a little bit more flour.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface. Using a pizza cutter, cut out cookies into 1″ squares. Bake these cookies for about 25-30 minutes in the 350° oven. You'll know when they are done because they will turn light brown and begin to crack.
