State-of-the-art drone technology is being used to locate over 1 million stray dogs in the Houston, Texas area. The World Animal Awareness Society is using the drones to help track the serious problem that the city is having with stray canines.
Tom McPhee, the executive director of the organization, says that he believes the city has at least one million strays roaming the streets. He also says that the drones are extremely easy to navigate and the master controller links to his tablet.
The drone, known as the DJI 1, is equipped with a high definition camera that captures a 360 degree view of its surroundings. McPhee also uses GPS mapping on his tablet to make the search faster and more efficient.
