Minnesota Rescue Dog Paints Like Picasso

Newman, a small mixed breed rescue dog from Minnesota, began getting into trouble around the house before his foster mom stepped in to give him a creative outlet. She began teaching Newman tricks during winter months when it was too cold to go outside and burn off energy.

Other dogs may paint with their paws or even their tails, but Newman actually uses a brush. He uses his mouth to hold one brush at a time and make strokes on the canvas. Newman's foster mom wanted to show how special rescue dogs are by making him into an ambassador of sorts.

Newman's owner sells his paintings and the money raised goes back to Circle of Friends, a charity for rescue dogs. Since beginning this endeavor at the beginning of the year, Newman has completed over a dozen paintings.
