Taking our dogs for a ride in the car is always a bittersweet adventure. I love spending time with them, and they really enjoy coming along. Unfortunately, three dogs also leave behind a lot of dirt, dander, and dog hair on my vehicle's upholstery. I decided to see if the Epica Dog Car Seat Cover could stand up to the mess that my girls left behind after a ride.
When I'm shopping for a car seat cover, it needs to be convenient and effective. I have three dogs, so I need a cover that goes on easily, but I don't want a cheap product that doesn't fully protect the seats of my vehicle.
Did the Epica Dog Car Seat Cover pass my test?
Well, I actually did a comparison recently of three of the best-selling dog car seat covers on the market. How did this cover compare? You can read my extensive review on all three and see how the Epica seat cover is stacked up in my Best Car Seat Cover for Dogs Comparison.
Now, let's talk about the pros and cons of this car seat and find out if it's worth the money.

Epica Dog Car Seat Cover Review
This is a traditional car seat cover that attaches to the headrests on the back seat of your vehicle. In the photo above, you can see the adjustable straps that loop around the headrest and can then be tightened with an adjustable buckle.

There are two seat anchors that you push into the crack between the back of the seat and the bottom. These anchors work well to hold the cover in place so it doesn't slide around while you're driving. There are also small anchors that can be attached to your car's seatbelt system for extra stability.
The cover is water resistant but not waterproof. I prefer a cover that is completely waterproof, as we often take our dogs swimming and hiking (where they sometimes find mud). Many similar products offer a rubber lining that keeps water from soaking into your upholstery, and that would be a great upgrade to the Epica dog car seat cover.
As you can see in the video review above, it fits great in my Ford Escape, and the company claims that it will cover most bench seats – just be sure to measure carefully.
Unlike other products that come in multiple sizes to fit small, medium, and large vehicles, the Epica dog car seat cover is only available in one size. It measures 56″ long X 47″ wide.
When you're shopping for a car seat cover, you need to be sure that there are openings for the seatbelt buckles. The cover does offer openings, but they are simply open holes that you place over the seat belt buckles.
Some similar products offer zippered or Velcro openings, which is a great advantage if you have dogs that like to chew. Having the ability to hide the seat belt buckles when my dogs are alone in the vehicle is great because I don't have to worry about anyone chewing on them.

Now that we've discussed the design of the product let's talk about the material it's made of. This is one of the most plush car seat covers that I've tried. Its quilted material is durable and very soft.
My dogs LOVE nesting in this seat cover, and they seem to prefer it's quilted comfort. It's also held up very well to all of their scratching and nesting.
While the material is comfortable, it attracts dog hair like a magnet. The cover itself is machine washable, which is great, but the dog hair sticks into the fabric and is difficult to remove without the help of a lint roller. Fine hair comes off fairly well in the wash, but our Boxer and Labrador's course hairs are very difficult to remove from this car seat cover.
You can purchase the Epica Dog Car Seat Cover on Amazon for $39.95. This is on the cheap end for car seat covers, but remember that this model is not waterproof, and it's only available in one size.
