Our dogs love riding in the car. It doesn't matter where we're going, they just love going for a ride. While I love taking them with me, I hate the mess they leave behind on my seats. I was curious to see if the Pettom Dog Car Seat Cover would help keep their hair, dirt and debris off my upholstery.
In my opinion, a good car seat cover will be great for my upholstery and for myself. It needs to be easy to install, and I want to be sure that I'm getting my money's worth. Of course, I also need a car seat cover that's going to be comfortable for my dogs.
You see, my dogs aren't always easy on the products that I buy for them. Two of them like to nest, which means lots of scratching and digging. For a car seat cover to pass our inspection, it needs to be really durable and easy to clean.

Pettom Dog Car Seat Cover Review
This is a hammock style car seat cover, which in my opinion is the best style. Unlike traditional covers that only protect the seat, hammock style covers attach to the headrests of the front and rear seats to form a hammock. This protects the seat and the floors by trapping dirt, hair and debris in the cover.
As you can see in my video review above, there are four straps that attach the cover to your car's headrests. These straps have a quick release buckle that makes it very easy to install or remove the cover. The straps are also adjustable and stay put once fitted to your seats.
These adjustable straps stay put even through washing, which means you won't have to readjust them each time you clean the Pettom Dog Car Seat Cover.

The Pettom Dog Car Seat Cover is available in three sizes. Many similar products come in one-size-fits-most style, but Pettom has catered their seat covers to meet the needs of consumers with different vehicles. You can purchase this cover in:

They also sell a Trunk Cover that is 78″ X 42″ that is made to prtoect the cargo area of your vehicle. Pettom also offers a door protector that measures 28″ X 21.” This product will keep the inside of your car door from getting scratched by dog nails. It also keeps dirt and drool from getting on the door.

My dogs loved the quilted design on the back and seat of this cover. It added just enough cushion for them to snuggle into. As I said, two of our dogs love to nest, and I think they seemed to enjoy the fluffiness added by the quilting.
The top of the Pettom Dog Car Seat Cover is made with durable 600D oxford polyester material. No matter how much our dogs nest and scratch, they haven't been able to do any damage to this cover.
What I really like is the bottom layer, which is made of a waterproof, non-slip, rubbery material. If your dog has an accident or jumps in the car after a swim, the liquid won't leak down into your upholstery. Also, the rubber grips the seat to prevent the cover from sliding around when your pup moves.
Speaking of stability, the Pettom Dog Car Seat Cover is also equipped with seat anchors. They are just hard plastic tubes that you push into the crack between the backrest and the seat base. The anchors hold firmly.
In the 3 months I've had this car seat cover, I haven't ever had a problem with it sliding out from under my dogs.
Another feature that I liked is the seat belt access holes. They have Velcro closures, so you can access the seat belts when you need to and close them off if your dog likes to chew. We have two young dogs, and it's been helpful to keep the seat belt buckles hidden from them when they're in the car alone.
So, what didn't I like about this cover?
There aren't any deal breakers here, just a few notes to keep in mind. First of all, let's talk about the quilting. While it does seem to be durable and my dogs definitely prefer it over a plain, thin seat cover, we've used over covers that offered much more padding. Also, the quilting makes for A LOT of extra stitching, which means a lot more chances that your dog's nails will catch a thread and easily make a hole.
There's also no storage in this seat cover, which would definitely be nice. I know you're probably thinking that you don't need storage because there's room for everything in your vehicle. But, think about how nice it would be to have a couple of pockets to keep your dog's supplies in.

I've used other covers that offer a few pockets, and it's a huge benefit. Pockets allow you to keep all of Fido's things – leash, collar, harness, toys, food, water – in one easy-to-access space. Not to mention, a car seat cover can double as a makeshift dog bed at the park, lake or while camping. Pockets would definitely be handy to have.
As I said, no deal breakers, but just a few things to keep in mind while you're shopping around for the car seat cover that will fit your needs. Of course, you also need to make it work in your budget, and the Pettom Dog Car Seat Cover will do just that.
You can pick up the large size on Amazon for $58.90. You can certainly find quality covers cheaper than this, but the price is in the mid-range for similar products.
