Do you like the combination of a sweet and salty snack? Your dog will too! These bacon and peanut butter dog biscuit treats are healthy and very easy to make. Our dogs love them, and I'm sure yours will too!
Who doesn't like bacon? You may be worried that it's too fatty to feed to your pet. While adding bacon to Fido's diet on a regular basis isn't healthy, a small amount here and there is perfectly safe.
Peanut butter is a favorite flavor for many dogs. Not only is peanut butter a great source of protein, it also has Vitamin B and E, niacin, heart healthy fats and many other nutrients that your dog's body needs.
Just be careful that the peanut butter you purchase does not contain xylitol – it can be toxic to canines.

Bacon and Peanut Butter Dog Biscuit Treats Review
Ingredients
- 3 slices of bacon (diced)
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup of creamy peanut butter
- 1 tbsp. maple syrup
- 3 tbsp. water
- 1/2 cup of soy flour
- 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup of wheat germ

Directions
Preheat your oven to 300°.
Fry the bacon until crispy, and save the fat for later. In a large mixing bowl, combine the egg, maple syrup, peanut butter, water and bacon fat. Stir until the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Add the soy flour, whole wheat flour and wheat germ to the mixture. When they are completely combined, crumble the bacon and add it to the mixture as well.
Now you'll need to roll out the dough on a floured surface. The peanut butter and syrup make this dough a bit sticky, so be sure to spread plenty of flour. You'll want to flour your rolling pin too.
Roll the dough until it's about 1/4-inch thick. As you'll see in my video guide, I used cookie cutters to make cute shapes, but you don't have to. You could also use a butter knife or a pizza cutter to cut out small square treats.
Bake the treats in a 300° oven for 12-15 minutes. You'll know when they are done because the tops will begin to turn brown. Once they're cool, you can feed them to your pooch.
You can also store the leftover treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 5-7 days. If you want to make a larger batch, you can store them in the freezer for up to 3 months.
