Miranda Lambert has never been shy about her animal loving ways. Her pets are often seen on her social media pages, and she even co-founded her own animal welfare charity back in 2009 alongside her mother. MuttNation Foundation is helping to end animal cruelty, homelessness and neglect. The donation-supported organization provides aid to animals all over the United States.

Lambert recently decided to take MuttNation to store shelves around the country as well, creating a product line for dogs known as MuttNation Fueled by Miranda Lambert. The line will include dog beds, collars, leashes, chew toys and feeding and watering products. The products are described as “country chic with a rock & roll flare.”

The country crooner partnered with PetMate to design the products. She says creating the line is a dream come true, as she has always had a love for dogs and enjoys doing as much as possible to help pets find their forever homes. Lambert’s hope is that the dog products will not only raise money, but also awareness of the joy that can be found in adopting a shelter pet.

This product line has a lot of unique features that promote Lambert’s personal style. It includes bedding in cow and denim prints, bandanas and even a treat-dispensing dog toy that is shaped like a guitar. The main feature will be the Rescue Mutts line of stuffed dog toys that are modeled after real-life shelter pups.

Every toy will come with the story of the shelter dog that it is based on and a picture of their adoption and new family. One of Lambert’s own dogs, Delilah is even a featured a dog in the lineup. Delilah was the country superstar’s first rescue dog.

Every purchase of MuttNation Fueled by Miranda Lambert products will benefit the MuttNation Foundation to help rescue and adoption efforts around the country.

MuttNation provides help to animals in the form of:

  • Donating food and supplies to animal shelters
  • Coordinating puppy mill rescues
  • Providing medical treatment
  • Spay and neuter campaigns

The organization holds a large annual fundraiser known as Cause for the Paws. MuttNation also donated more than $175,000 to animal shelters in the U.S. with the funds they raised last year. MuttNation Fueled by Miranda lambert launched at the Global Pet Expo last week, and is set to hit store shelves later this year.

The work of MuttNation Foundation is extremely important, as the number of pets in shelters is always increasing. Many potential pet parents believe the stigma that shelter dogs are not good family dogs. Some believe that shelter dogs have led a hard life in the past and that causes them to be more aggressive and have more behavior problems than puppies adopted from a breeder.

This isn’t the case at all, and a quick visit to your local animal shelter will prove that. Some of the most talented dogs in the world are shelter dogs. Often, service dogs, protection dogs and other working dogs are found in shelters and trained to perform certain tasks. Many famous dogs were also found in shelters including the dog from Old Yeller, 5 of the dogs used to film Marley and Me and the Jack Russel Terrier who played Eddie on the hit television show Frasier.
