The puppy lovers at Rover.com went out polling people to find out what the most popular dog names are for 2017.

They compiled the top 10 in male names and the top 10 in female names.

Like baby names, there are definite trends in doggy names. Nobody is calling their pup Fido anymore.

Surprisingly, neither Spot nor Lucky made the cut. But does your dog’s name rank among these most popular options?

People also name their dogs after celebs – and the rivalries are correlated with names! “Taylor” beat out “Katy” by 65%.

In that same vein, people are feeling nostalgic for the 90s, apparently. Because they’re naming their pooches things like Buffy and Willow. The name “Nirvana” is up 171%

And the world travelers of the world look to be settling down, getting dogs, and naming them after their favorite destinations. Topping that list are names like Dallas, Sydney, Savannah, Rio, and Phoenix.
